The development of ultrasound as a diagnostic tool for children has been one of the greatest contributions in the care of the pediatric age patient. Since no ionizing radiation is used, images of the body in real time allow the radiologist to evaluate both internal organs as well as bones and joints. Our sonographers are trained to examine our patients with knowledge of disease patterns in the pediatric age. The studies are visible to us by remote viewing as they are being performed and hands on evaluation is commonly added to complete an examination of these patients. The use of ultrasound extends to both diagnosis and treatment, including biopsy, fluid aspiration, etc. Please select from the choices below to read more about each of these examinations.
