Mid-gut volvulus
High-grade
proximal duodenal obstruction without marked duodenal
distention (arrows point to duodenum) makes duodenal atresia
unlikely. Likewise, duodenal webs usually have more
proximal obstruction. Midgut volvulus with Ladd bands
would be very likely in the face of bloody diarrhea.
This was proven at surgery (emergency surgery done soon
after this study was completed.
