Nuclear Imaging    

     The use of specialized radioactive substances created for medical use is valuable in the workup of a variety of illnesses, including infections of bone, tumors, infections and blockage of the urinary system, malfunction of the biliary tract and thyroid glands, etc.  

     It can be used in the nervous system to localize the site of seizure activity, as well as evaluating the blood flow to the heart.  Areas of abnormal bleeding can also be detected with this very sensitive agent. 

     Treatment of abnormal thyroid tissue with radioactivity is also a specialized use of these “isotopes” which require meticulous administration and follow-up. 

     Appropriate dosage is of utmost concern and our physicians and technologists are all well-trained in the use of these sophisticated substances
