University Department of Radiology
Both vascular and
non-vascular interventional imaging is an integral part of
supporting our surgeons and clinicians. Catheter
manipulations in vessels to treat disease may include
treatment of inoperable tumors, occlusion of blood vessels,
etc.
Placement of
catheters in organs may help to diagnose and treat diseases
otherwise requiring risky surgical procedures.
The use of this
relatively modern technique has greatly reduced surgical
morbidity and unnecessary prolonged hospitalizations.
