PET imaging is one of
the newest imaging modalities now available for diagnostic
evaluation. This has become an extremely sensitive
tool in the detection of tumor spread and the response of
tumors to treatment. In conjunction with
cross-sectional imaging, the use of PET scanning can
accurately pinpoint the location of residual or resistant
disease
A new
PET-CT scanner is now operating daily in the department to
add the
latest in diagnostic techniques in the diagnosis,
treatment and follow-up of pediatric tumors.
