Healthcare of Atlanta at Egleston and the Residents of Emory
University Department of Radiology
With the addition of the 64 slice CT
scanner, as well as an 8 slice portable CT scanner, rapid,
high quality scans are available to our clinical staff.
The use of reduced technical settings further adds to lower
dose imaging of the head in urgent and emergent situations.
If your child has suffered a head injury, a CT of the head
will determine the need for aggressive intervention and
rapid treatment when necessary. The portable CT
scanner now gives our intensive care physicians a very
useful tool for patients too ill to be moved. This
extremely low-dose unit has tremendous benefits in the
intensive care setting.
